Stepping out of the plane, into the early morning Bamako heat and dust, and the waiting hugs from Charlie, our friend volunteering with the Peace Corps. 2 hours difference in time, decades in development Our first hotel, located near the Peace Corps “Stage House” (places where volunteers can spend the night while passing thru), was not run by Malians, rather by Lebanese. So much for practicing the Malian Bambara (local language) greetings.
